  • South Carolina Governor's Summit on Addiction - REGISTRATION OPEN!
    • Join the SC Center of Excellence in Addiction for the 2025 Governor's Summit on November 13-14 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. We've brought together a stellar selection of plenary speakers, breakout sessions, and thought leaders in South Carolina -- and we're offering registration for just $99.   • Webinar Series: Grief Support for First Responders - First installment September 9, 11:00 am, Second installment, September 23, 11:00 am
    • This upcoming webinar series, offered in partnership with the Southeast Addiction Technology Transfer Center (SATTC), will provide resources for first responders and other front-line workers who may encounter death and loss in their roles working with people with substance use disorder. Register here. 

Standing Events

  • Biweekly Community Opioid Response Initiative ECHO - virtual; second and fourth Friday at 12pm; REGISTER HERE (through iECHO)
    • Open to all county and municipal opioid abatement project planners, leaders, and implementers -- as well as their community partners -- this biweekly meeting showcases how different South Carolina communities are approaching their opioid abatement funded projects. These hour long sessions include case studies, education on approved opioid abatement strategies, and opportunities for continued learning and program growth.
  • Needs and Leads Technical Assistance recipient meeting - virtual, first Tuesday of every month at 11 am; email camhr@clemson.edu or fill out this technical assistance form to join
    • Hosted by Center of Excellence Technical Assistance partner, Clemson University, these monthly meetings are open to anyone receiving technical assistance for opioid abatement projects -- or anyone who would like to receive technical assistance! Needs and Leads is an informal space to bring your challenges as well as your wins to connect with other abatement leaders in communities across South Carolina.

  • Webinar: Oregon's Drug Policy Pivot: From Decriminalization to Deflection - July 22, 12 - 1 pm; join at this link via Zoom
    • Hosted as part of the Yale Addiction Medicine Grand Round series, this virtual event will offer CME credit for eligible participants. Learning objectives are to 1) Review the history and context of the war on drugs and describe two types of decriminalization, 2) Analyze Oregon's Ballot Measure 110 implementation and results, and 3) Describe the deflection movement and Oregon's approach with HB4002.
  • South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund (SCORF) Board Coffee Chat - Monthly, first Friday at 9:30 am
    • Note: the August Coffee Chat will be a PUBLIC COMMENT opportunity. The SCORF Board wants to hear from you -- individuals, businesses, providers, agencies, counties, municipalities, family members, and advocates. Your comments bring attention to the issues and priorities of South Carolina's communities and inform the work of the SCORF Board.  
    • The Board will receive public comment by email or by video or audio over Zoom and preregistration is required.
    • Be sure to review guidelines and complete the preregistration form on the Coffee Chat site.
  • Favor Low Country Red Carpet Recovery on the River Fundraiser - July 25, 2025 in Charleston, SC
